You Are:  

 A detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for financial management. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a knack for transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. You are proficient in MS Excel, familiar with iTRAK, and have a solid understanding of the Federal budget process. Your background in business, accounting, or a related field has equipped you with the knowledge and skills to excel in budget formulation, analysis, and execution.


How you will make an impact

As a remote Budget Analyst, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing our budget and spending activities. Your expertise will help ensure accurate budgetary planning, compliance with financial regulations, and effective resource allocation. By analyzing financial data and collaborating with key stakeholders, you will support our mission to optimize financial performance and drive strategic decision-making

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance, expenditures, and forecasts to identify trends and variances.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budget summaries, and variance analyses.
  • Assist in the development and execution of budget proposals and financial plans.
  • Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Federal budget process, appropriations law, and organizational financial policies.
  • Utilize MS Excel and ITRAK for budget tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Support internal and external financial audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, mathematics, or a related field (coursework in economics and statistics is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in budget formulation, analysis, and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal budget process and appropriations law.
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking and data analysis.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with iTRAK.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong mathematical and writing skills.
  • Effective communication and time management abilities.

Bonus if you have:
  • Experience working with or in a government organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of economic or statistical modeling techniques.
  • Certifications in budgeting, finance, or data analysis (e.g., CBA, CFA, CGFM).
  • Familiarity with other financial management or accounting software
