How You Will Make an Impact
As an Appian Lead Developer at Lawelawe, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade applications on the Appian platform that directly support our federal client’s mission. You will lead requirements sessions, architect solutions, and ensure quality through development, testing, and deployment. By mentoring IT specialists, sharing best practices, and delivering knowledge transfer, you’ll ensure long-term success and adoption of the solutions you create.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders across the client organization to capture business needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications
  • Provide expert advice on Appian best practices and customization strategies
  • Design and develop scalable applications, process models, SAIL forms, records, and interfaces in Appian
  • Write secure, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with Appian and organizational standards
  • Integrate Appian with enterprise systems and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow
  • Manage data migration, synchronization, and integrity across systems
  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans to validate functionality and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and technical issues throughout the lifecycle
  • Lead and participate in code review sessions to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions
  • Deliver training and hands-on guidance to end users and IT specialists to promote adoption and knowledge sharing
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials
  • Monitor and maintain the health of Appian environments to ensure high availability and performance

Here's What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Appian applications
  • Active Appian Lead Developer certification
  • Strong knowledge of Appian features including process flows, SAIL forms, Web APIs, RPA, Portals, and AI Skills
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Experience designing data models and familiarity with RDBMS concepts
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience migrating Appian applications across environments
  • Strong integration experience with internal and external web services
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Bonus Points If
  • You have experience supporting federal government clients or working in highly regulated environments
  • You hold additional Appian certifications or advanced technical credentials
  • You bring expertise in enterprise system integrations, DevOps pipelines, or cloud-based deployments
  • You have experience mentoring developers or leading small technical teams
