Responsibilities
- Provide Database Administration Support: Database Support and Services includes database administration, operations, maintenance, and optimization support for the FBCH Database environment.
- Administer, operate, maintain, and optimize all databases in the Database Environment on a 24x7x365 basis.
- Document operational work instructions, procedures, and processes for performing database Operations and Maintenance.
- Publish scheduled maintenance information and impact statements.
- Support transition to a future private cloud enterprise computing solution for database hosting.
- Provide services for evaluation, planning, requirements analysis, design, optimization, testing, implementation, and sustainment of new and existing mission databases. Database support will include Backup and Recovery, Performance Tuning, Clustering and Security hardening of, but not limited to, Microsoft Structured Query Language databases.
- Be knowledgeable of industry-standard principles, concepts, and methodologies specific to database administration and be proficient in the use of data redundancy and database modeling technologies.
- Assist with new FCDS projects affecting network operations in accordance with current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
- Develop and operate backup and recovery strategies, in accordance with archiving, backup, and recovery procedures that are 100% fully tested and functioning correctly.
- Assist in the development of enterprise IT Contingency Planning, especially as it pertains to database recovery.
- Confirm IT Contingency Plans through troubleshooting, confirming the ability to recover databases, reload software, and confirm database integrity. Update procedures and documentation and make recommendations to improve IT Contingency Planning.
- Utilize automated tools, as specified by the Government, to identify database availability, optimize database performance and resource use, predict impending database problems, provide solutions to correct database problems, and maximize database throughput.
- Implement methodologies to enforce standardization and flexibility across the enterprise; provide strategic database direction; support implementation of future database version releases; and provide reporting metrics for the enterprise.
- Remediate security vulnerabilities on all servers, desktops, and infrastructure devices to meet security and operational requirements.

Here's What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field of study desired.
- Must have a Secret Clearance.
- DoD 8570 compliance – CompTIA Security+, and a computer environment certification related to database administration. Required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with a blended team of government and contractor staff.
- Availability to support regular Mon-Fri EST business hours.
- US Citizenship.
